Community. Creativity. Sustainability.

LaDY MoHaWK is a multidisciplinary art practice and creative production studio delivering artist-led public activations, exhibitions and inclusive community workshops across Melbourne.

I’m Sally Walshe, multidisciplinary artist and creative producer behind Lady Mohawk.

My practice spans studio artwork, wearable art and large scale public engagement. I create original works exploring identity, sustainability and connection to place, available to purchase and collect here, while also delivering artist led workshops, exhibitions and community activations across Melbourne.

Working at the intersection of contemporary art and place activation, I partner with councils, health organisations and community groups to design inclusive, professionally delivered creative experiences.

Lady Mohawk represents strength grounded in empathy.

Art is not decorative. It is connective.

Show Your WESTSIDE, the Footscray Hospital Photography Competition and more!

Lady Mohawk continues to contribute to some of Melbourne’s most impactful creative and community arts initiatives.

Building on the success of Show Your WESTSIDE 2023, the 2024 Art Prize and Exhibition featured more than 250 exhibiting artists and welcomed over 600 attendees to its opening night. Open to both youth and adults, the exhibition awarded 12 prizes donated by local businesses, totalling more than $5,300. The event has become a significant cultural highlight in Melbourne’s western arts community.

In February 2026, Sally served as Lead Exhibition Coordinator and MC for the Footscray Hospital Photography Competition Exhibition, delivered in partnership with Footscray Community Arts, Plenary Health, the Victorian Health Building Authority and Western Health. She led curatorial coordination, stakeholder engagement and public event delivery, culminating in a large scale exhibition within the new Footscray Hospital that celebrated community voice, wellbeing and connection to place.

Sally also created RePurpose Your Future for the National Sustainable Living Festival, a youth led initiative highlighting creativity and environmental responsibility. As part of Green West Fest, she collaborated with schools and the local community to deliver Tree of the Future, a permanent public sculpture constructed from recycled materials.

For Wyndham City Council, she produced Penrose RePurposed: Sustainable Art Experiences, transforming Tarneit’s Penrose Place into a vibrant hub of colour and community pride.

Additional recent projects include delivering the RePurposed workshop at Be Bold Festival in Brimbank and a large scale community quilt making activation at the Djerriwarrh Festival in Melton, alongside numerous workshops and public programs for councils, schools and organisations across Melbourne.
